“How does a person get to see a psychologist?”
They can be referred by another profession (often a Medical Practitioner) or just phone and
make an appointment.
“Are your fees rebateable?”
If your doctor refers you
with a Mental Health Care Plan you will receive
a partial rebate from Medicare. If you have
extra with your private health fund they
will pay part of the cost. Sometimes fees
will be met through someone else paying (e.g.
if your employer wants to help you quit smoking).
Please contact me for individual information.
“Do I have to get a referral
from my GP?”
If you wish to qualify for a
Medicare rebate you will need a referral
from your GP. If you wish to use your Private
Health extras rebate, you do not need a Doctor’s
referral.
“What is hypnosis like?”
It is usually very relaxing.
It is like being absorbed in a movie or
a good book. It is not like being under
an anaesthetic.
“How does hypnosis work?”
Hypnosis enables the mind to focus its
power and permits suggestions to take effect
at the level of the unconscious mind.
“How would I get to be a Psychologist?” First undertake an honours or other four
